The improvements are designed to increase pedestrian activity, improve the downtown environment, and create more opportunities for outdoor dining, retail activity, and community gathering. The project includes a full streetscape revitalization of two blocks of Wenatchee Avenue between Orondo Avenue and Kittitas Street including new sidewalks, enhanced landscaping, pedestrian improvements, intersection improvements, raised crosswalks, roadway upgrades, and replacement of the approximately 100-year-old water main beneath Wenatchee Avenue.
The existing water main beneath Wenatchee Avenue is approximately 100 years old. Replacing it while the street is already being improved is efficient, cost-effective, and helps modernize critical downtown infrastructure.
